What an interesting picture! A boy is sleeping on a large opened book with sheets of paper and a pair of glasses beside him. He must have done some reading before falling asleep. Besides, the sweet smile on his face shows that he is satisfied with what he has gained from the book.
To my understanding, the picture intends to tell us the importance of doing some reading. We can increase our knowledge, broaden the mind, enrich our life and make ourselves relaxed by reading books. As a student, I think we should read as many good books as possible. Only in this way can we improve ourselves greatly.

About 125 pilot whales died in New Zealand after being stranded (擱淺) on two beaches over the weekend, but vacationers and conservation workers managed to help 43 others back out to sea.
Rescuers monitored the survivors as they swam away from Colville Beach on North Island’s Coromandel peninsula (半島),and by Monday morning they were reported well out to sea.
Department of Conservation workers and hundreds of volunteers helped refloat the 43 whales at high tide. The volunteers covered the stranded whales with sheets and kept them wet through the day.“About 63 pilot whales were stranded, but we’ve got 43 live ones,”a member of the Department of Conservation Steve Bolten said as the whales swam out to sea.Bolten said one of the whales may have been sick,or that their sonar may have led them into the shallow harbor and they couldn’t find their way out again.
Meanwhile on South Island,105 stranded pilot whales died last Saturday, conservation officials said.Golden Bay biodiversity (生態(tài)) program manager Hans Stoffregen said they were discovered by a tourist plane pilot and only 30 were alive when conservation workers arrived.“They were in bad shape.By the time we got there,two-thirds of them had already died.We had to kill the rest in a painless way,”he said.“The whales have been out of the water for a long time.It had been quite hot and they were very sad.You could see the pain and suffering in their eyes,”he told The Southland Times newspaper.
Because the site is part of a nature reserve, these dead whales were buried where they were stranded,Stoffregen said.Large numbers of whales become stranded on New Zealand’s beaches each summer as they pass by on their way to breeding grounds in Antarctic waters.Scientists so far have been unable to explain why whales become stranded.

People with fat in their thighs (大腿) may live longer because the fat traps harmful fatty things and actively produces helpful things, researchers say.
Many studies have shown that people who accumulate fat around the stomach are more likely to die of heart disease and other causes than bottom-heavy people, but the reasons are not clear.
This may be because several different factors are involved, said Manolopoulos of Britain’s University of Oxford.“It is the protective role of lower-body fat that is striking,”Manolopoulos wrote in the International Journal of Obesity.“The protective functions of the lower-body fat tissue have been confirmed in many studies,”he added.Fat at the bottom and thighs appears to store extra fatty acids.
People with fat in their thighs also appear to have lower levels of things called inflammatory cytokines (炎性細(xì)胞因子)—signaling chemicals involved in the body’s response to infection that also can play a role in heart disease when they are inappropriately active.
Fat on the legs may also absorb fats from the diet, keeping them from harming the body when people overeat,Manolopoulos said.Fat in the thighs may also be more stable,he said, with studies showing fat around the stomach breaks down quickly when a person is on a diet or feeling stress, releasing potentially harmful components from the fat.The exact adjustable functions of
fatty acid release and storage and their effect on short term and chronic fatty acid metabolism (新陳代謝) remain to be analyzed,”Manolopoulos wrote.
Leg fat may also be better at producing healthy hormones, which are made by fat and affect appetite and metabolism—although this is poorly understood.Understanding all this could lead to better drugs to treat obesity and related disease such as heart disease.
6.The passage is mainly about ________.
