今天的課程中，您將學到：

When the fisherman got home, he saw his wife standing outside a beautiful new house with a small garden beside it. They were happy there for a few weeks, until one day the wife said to the husband, This house isnt big enough for us now. Go down to the little fish and ask him for a bigger one.
當漁夫到家時，看到自己的妻子站在一座漂亮的房子外面，旁邊還有一個小花園。(他的愿望達成了!)他們過了幾個星期快樂的日子，直到有一天妻子對他說：這房子不夠住了，你去告訴他給我們一個更大的。
「串講」
人是永遠都不會滿足的，所以學會提要求很重要，只是千萬不要像這個老太婆一樣，光顧這給別人提要求，那就太過分了哦。
ask sb for sth, to make a request for(sth)or to (someone) 要求，請求。
She asked (me) for a drink. 她請求(我)給她一杯水。
不過，在世博英語，我們卻可以承諾：
You can ask us for anything about learning English.
千萬別跟我們客氣哦!
「小補貼」
既然大家這么看得起我，索性就再教大家幾個帶有ask的實用短句：
1、Dont ask me!
Wheres Tom? Dont ask me! Tom在哪?別問我!(我怎么知道!)
顯得有些不太客氣是吧，所以，這句話只能在比較熟的朋友之間使用哦。
2、You may well ask!
What crazy scheme has he got in mind now? You may well ask! (=thats a good question because it certainly is something crazy.) 他現在又在考慮什么瘋狂計劃?你問得好!
3、If you ask me.
I think he likes her. If you ask me, hes in love. 我覺得他喜歡她。照我看，他是在戀愛呢!
看了前面的故事，你可能會說：
If you ask me, I think the fisherman is a coward.
不要著急，他馬上就要發表意見了。

Thats not right, said the fisherman. He has already given us this new house. I cant ask him for more. Right or not, you must go and ask him, shouted his wife. Or therell be no dinner for you tonight.
這是不對的，漁夫說。他已經給了我們一座新房子，我不能再要求更多了。我不管什么對錯，總之你必須去問他要，他的妻子叫喊道。否則你今晚就不要吃飯了!
「串講」
人是鐵，飯是剛，一頓不吃餓得慌，看來丈夫們都受不了這一招，所以各位美眉，想要把老公訓得服服帖帖，一定要記住下面這句哦。
Or therell be no dinner for you tonight.
Or在這里不表示或者的意思，而是if not; otherwise 否則，要不然。
當然，也不能總是一副冷面孔，適當的時候也要表現一下我們的溫柔體貼：
Wear you coat or youll be cold.
穿上衣服，要不你會覺得冷。
可是，如果他軟硬不吃，就要給他最后通牒了：
Either say youre sorry or get out.
要不(你)道歉，要不滾出去。
Or 經常與either 連用，表示要不要不。
好了，不能再扇風點火了，呵呵希望大家都家庭和睦，永遠不要用到這兩句話才好!

此外，or還有一個用法：or can be used when you want to limit or correct something you have said, 當你要對你所說的話加以限定或更正時，可用or.比如：
Its going to snow tomorrow, or thats what the forecast says.
明天要下雪，確切的說，天氣預報是這么說的。
(這樣就算沒下雪，也不會落下埋怨了嘛!)
He is, or was, a very famous writer.
他是，準確的說，他過去是一位非常有名的作家。
「語法小教室」
bigger是big的比較級，意思是更大的。one指得就是house,在這里用one 代替house是為了避免重復。
