A as+原級+as用于肯定句，as/so+原級+as用于否定句：
He worked as slowly as he dared.
他干活敢多么磨蹭就多么磨蹭。
He doesnt snore as/so loudly as you do.
他打鼾的聲音沒有你響。
It didnt take as/so long as I expected.
花的時間比我預料的短。
B than與比較級連用：
He eats more quickly than I do/than me.
他比我吃得快。
He played better than he had ever played.
他比過去任何時候都演奏得好。
They arrived earlier than I expected.
他們比我預料的到得早。
the+比較級the+比較級結構中也用副詞：
The earlier you start the sooner youll be back.
你出發得越早，回來得就越早。
C 最高級可與of+名詞連用：
He went(the)furthest of the explorers.
在所有探險者中他走得最遠。
但這種結構不常用。這類句子應當用比較級來表達，如上文所述。副詞的最高級(不加the)+of all這種結構很常用，但all常指同一主語的其他動作：
He likes swimming best of all.
他最喜歡游泳。(他喜歡游泳勝過其他一切運動。)
這時of all可以省略。
