A as(=when/while)的用法的限制
這里as主要與表示動作或發展過程的動詞連用，一般情況下它不與第168節中所列的動詞連用，除如上面B3所示有發展之意時例外。在一般情況下它也不與live，stay，remain這類動詞連用。
B as與上述動詞或同類動詞連用時，一般均表示because/since (由于)：
As he was tired相當于：
Because he was tired...
因為他太累了
As he knew her well相當于：
Because he knew her well
因為他了解她
As it contains alcohd...相當于：
Since/Because it contains alcohol
因為它含有酒精
As he lives near here相當于：
Since/Because he lives
因為他住的地方離這兒很近
C as與多數動詞連用時，可以是兩種意思中的任一個意思：
As/While he shaved he thought about the coming interview.
他邊刮胡子，邊想著即將進行的面談。
As/Because he shaved with a blunt razor he didnt make a very good job of it.
因為他用一把鈍剃須刀刮胡子，所以刮得不好。
如果在這個問題上沒有把握，最好用while或because。
D as+名詞時意為when/while(當時)或because/since(由于)：
As a student he had known great poverty.相當于：
When he was a student he had known great poverty.
他當學生時，經歷過很貧困的生活。
As a student he gets/got in for half price.相當于：
Because he is/was a student be gets/got in...
由于是學生，他付半價就入場了。
As a married man，he has to think of his family.相當于：
Because/Since he is a married man...
作為一個有婦之夫，他必須考慮他的家庭。
as在這里意為 when/while時，后面常跟完成時態。
as意為because/since時，后面可跟任一時態。
