　　dead, deadly, dying

　　三個詞都可以作形容詞，但含義各不相同。dead意為死了，反義詞是alive，表示死亡狀態;deadly意為致命的表示抽象意義;dying意為臨死的。

　　The dog has been dead for hours.這條狗死了幾個小時了。

　　That is a deadly snake. 這是一條致命的蛇。

　　The dying man tried to my mmething.這個快死的人試圖想說什么。

　　[注意] dead，dying可在前面加 the 作名詞用;deadly還有死氣沉沉之意。如：

　　The dead (dying) were being taken away from the spot.當時死者 (快死的人) 正從現場被抬走。

　　The lecture is deadly. Many began to leave.演講太沉悶了。許多人開始離開。
